EMDR |
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy treatment that alleviates distress associated with traumatic memories to bring adaptive resolution. Through EMDR you may find negative symptoms decrease, relief in areas of distress, reformulated negative beliefs and physical responses (such as anxiety and panic) reduced. During EMDR the therapist addresses the emotionally disruptive material in a brief, sequenced, approach while simultaneously focusing on an external stimulus, most commonly eye movement or hand tapping. Our trained therapists will evaluate your needs and build an EMDR treatment plan to help you reduce your trauma responses while giving you tools to implement, outside of the office, between sessions.
