Andrew Tompkins Jr., BSW
Master in Social Work Intern
Have you ever felt like you’re just going through the motions? A ship at sea without any clear direction? Do you yearn to be better understood? Life can be confusing, difficult, and frustrating to navigate alone. Let’s work together to help you gain stability, establish goals, realize your strengths, work through your weakness and develop skills that will assist you in your everyday life. I have a deep passion for helping individuals by promoting effective positive communication, self-awareness and autonomy.
Through advanced education and personal experience, I have gained techniques to help facilitate change. I believe in open and honest communication. My goal is to offer a safe and non-judgmental space to all individuals and to know that there is strength in being vulnerable and bravery in letting yourself feel. Liberate yourself of stigma; this is a shame free zone!
I have worked in the non-profit sector helping individuals and families navigate stability through financial hardship. My academic journey has shown me that we are a product of our environment, everyone has a unique story and everyone plays their role. I continue to work towards enriching my training and education to support my clients in diverse techniques, perspectives, options and psychoeducation to help navigate through life. I want you to feel seen, heard, understood and validated. Now is your time to take control of your life!
A little about me personally, I am a military spouse, a dog dad to three crazy pups, and a southern Alabama transplant who can’t live without sweet tea and potato salad. A member of the Queer/LGBTQIA+ population and helping people is in my bones. I have been a helper all my life, I blame it on my mama.
