Kylee' Vanzandt, BS
Master in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern
To me, therapy should provide a warm and positive environment where your concerns are validated and treated with care. My goal is to provide encouragement for others as they navigate life’s challenges, both minor and significant. I will provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for individuals to achieve goals worthy of their commitment. My specific areas of interest include Multicultural counseling and Narrative focused therapy, prioritizing client strengths. In a world where many things demand our attention, it is natural to feel overwhelmed. My approach to therapy involves challenging negative thought patterns, acknowledging the significant impact that systems have on the individual, and celebrating the uniqueness and differences among my clients.
I have a passion for intentionally listening to peoples’ stories and I hope to provide continual support alongside the journey towards healing and wellness. My experience as a court appointed special advocate (CASA) and a behavioral technician have led to a strong desire to assist and advocate for individuals who have endured trauma or experienced crisis. I believe that therapy can serve as a healthy reminder that our imperfections do not decide our outcome.
A little glimpse into my story. I am the first in my family to pursue a career in Clinical Mental Health counseling. I was born and raised in Ohio where I also met my husband, who's military career brought us to Colorado. I am the mother of two sweet girls who are only 15 months apart. Our exciting journey has required flexibility and resilience, as is required from most military families. In my free time I enjoy traveling to new places both near and far, listening to The Office ladies or Therapy for Black girls’ podcasts, and trying out new hobbies.
If you have a story you’d like to share, I am honored to be entrusted with it.
